HOW KICKSTARTER WORKS: 

  1. Companies or individuals, put together a short product launch video explaining the new product they hope to get funded.  The pitch video is similar to what you would see on television shows like Shark Tank (for those familiar with Shark Tank).  I will be releasing bits and pieces of the launch video on social media over the coming weeks to pique interest in the Emerick Lounger,  but will wait until the formal launch to release the entire video. 
  2. Once the Kickstarter campaign is formally launched, there will be a 30 day window in which you chose to support the campaign. 
  3. There will be many different levels of support people can choose from.   For instance $1 will get you a big thank you and periodic updates, $25 will get you a sweet Emerick trucker hat,  $199-$249 will get you a chair from the first production run (the $199  or $179 early bird specials will only be available ONLY on Day One (see below for more on the Early Bird Special), $399 will get you two chairs and so on and so forth.    
  4. When the campaign officially launches, there will be many more options available and each will be thoroughly explained with images.

WHY DO PEOPLE SUPPORT KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGNS?

  1. The first reason to support a Kickstarter campaign is that you will be one of the first in the world to receive the product…..long before it is sold on-line or in stores.
  2. The second reason is that since you are an early supporter, you will have access to the product at an extreme discount.  In the case of the Emerick Lounger the every day price after the campaign concludes will be $329.

WHEN WILL THE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN START?  

  1. We are now in pre-release stage, which means we are raising awareness so that come launch time we can bring our own customers to Kickstarter instead of relying on Kickstarter to get the word out.  
  2. We anticipate that the LAUNCH DAY/CAMPAIGN START will be in mid to late September. 
  3. Once the launch date is set, we will send weekly email updates starting 3-4 weeks out and then daily updates on the last few days prior to the launch.  As a result, by signing up for these updates, you are given every opportunity to get in on the Early Bird Special before the general public. 
  4. We will also communicate these updates via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

WHAT IS THE 'GOAL'?

  1. The goal is the amount of money that we need to raise in order to fund the launch of the product.  In the case of the Emerick Lounger, it is the $ needed to open tooling (for all the parts) combined with the material needed for the first production order.  We are still negotiating the minimum order quantity (MOQ) with our factory.  This MOQ will dictate the $ goal for the campaign and will be communicated to you prior to the launch.
  2. It is all or nothing.  If we don’t reach the $ goal, your credit card will not be charged and production won’t start.

WHAT IS THE ‘EARLY BIRD SPECIAL” AND HOW DO I ACCESS IT?

  1. Kickstarter campaigns can last 30-60 days with most lasting about 30 days.  On DAY ONE  most campaigns will offer a limited number of Early Bird Specials.  
  2. For the Emerick Lounger, we will offer two Early Bird Specials.  The first will be for the first 6 hours of the campaign with 50 units available at $179.  The second will be for the first 24 hours with 550 units at this $199.  
  3. After day one, the Early Bird Specials will no longer be available.  A comparable level of support (for one chair) will increase to $249….still a discount from the every day post Kickstarter price of $329.
